Free Citizenship Classes

Empowering Arizona communities through education and human services

About Our Free Citizenship Classes

The next class starts on April 22nd, 2024!

The Citizenship Program has been contracted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to provide free courses designed to help prepare adult immigrants and refugees at the low beginning to high intermediate ESL levels to complete the Naturalization process successfully.

During the program, students will receive instruction to develop their English language skills, civics content knowledge, and information about Form N-400. Our courses will follow a contextualized instructional approach in which civics lessons, ESL, and Naturalization content are embedded throughout the lessons and activities in the course.

The Citizenship Program is for 10 weeks, meeting twice weekly for 2 1/2 hours. Based on the student's English proficiency level, the class will be available on Mondays/Wednesdays (lower level) or Tuesdays/Thursdays (higher level). For both levels, classes are available from 1 PM to 3:30 PM, and 5 PM to 7:30 PM. We have 12 seats for each class on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We invite you to attend our next orientation. In the orientation, we will explain the class structure, take an English proficiency test (takes about 90 minutes), and complete a registration form. Please bring your Legal Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) to complete the registration form.
