About Our Free English Classes
The ESL (English as a Second Language) program at Friendly House offers English language classes from basic to high intermediate levels. The goal of the program is to provide English Language learning as well as support for transitioning students into higher education or the job market. The program integrates the four components of English learning (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) with job readiness skills such as resume writing and interviewing skills. Friendly House offers additional support for workforce preparation through an IET (Integrated Education Training) program to help adult education students improve occupational skills. Eligible ELAA (English Language Acquisition for Adults) students will be able to enroll in a class for Microsoft Office Specialist Certification (Microsoft Word) beginning in October.
Classes have both online and in-person sessions. The current schedule is as follows (schedules are subject to change):
Classes are year round and students can begin classes every two weeks.
Requirements: AZ Identification Card, AZ Driver’s License, United States Passport, or Permanent Resident Card. Students must be 16 years or older.
