Food City/Friendly House Golf Tournament
Whirlwind Golf Resort
June 2, 2008
Thank you everyone that participated in our annual Food City/Friendly House Golf Tournament. It was, by far the most successful tournament that we've have ever had. Once again, Food City was the signature sponsor and through the efforts of Tom Swanson and his right hand person, Brandy Brooks, most of the field was made up of Food City vendors.
Nike was a major factor in the success of the tournament as they brought a great crew to come help with the Nike store. Participants were able to personally select their own tee prizes.
The food was fantastic. Food City caterers provided the breakfast and in addition, they also set up a "taco stand" at each of the "nines" so players were able to have a little snack on the course. With all of the great gifts, golf, prizes, etc., one of the big hits of the tournament were the taco stands. Thank you Bill Harod and Jorge of Food City for you culinary efforts.
Craig Allen, Tournament Director for the Wigwam was outstanding in making sure that the tournament ran smoothly. In all, it was a great day and all 272 participants had a fantastic time. We'll look forward to seeing you again next year. And we'd like to thank our golf steering committee. They did an incredible job and we couldn't have done it without them.
We would be remiss if we didn't recognize Craig Herron and Crescent Crown Distributors for their help in printing our signs for us. Tee signs are always a last minute detail but extremely important. Craig and his staff did a wonderful job and we do appreciate it.
