Position: School Teacher (Sign-on Bonus)

We are seeking school teachers with 2 to 3 years elementary experience, strengths in Math or Language Arts, and experience with ATI-Galileo or DEBELS.

Work Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities:

1. Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.

2. Observe and evaluate students' performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.

3. Prepare materials and classrooms for class activities.

4. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests.

5. Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.

Position: Reading Coach

Work Hours: Full-time

Location: Academia de Pueblo Charter School

Responsibilities:

1. Provide continuous and systematic procedures and opportunities for professional growth for classroom teachers (e.g., through demonstrations, in-service courses, workshops, seminars, conference reports).

2. Consult frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to reading instruction.

3. Recommend materials to aid instruction.

4. Assist in the evaluation of on-going programs and make recommendations for change.

5. Assist the building principal and other administrators and/or supervisors in implementing the school reading program.

6. Orient beginning teachers and school aides as to the philosophy, procedures and materials for the school reading program.

7. Help teachers diagnose reading strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate techniques and materials.

8. Keep the community informed as to the purposes and progress of the reading program.

9. Encourage the development of research projects with appropriate experimental design.

10. Work with support staff and school administrators to facilitate the coordination of the reading program with the total curriculum and the adoption of AZCCRS.

11. Consult with curriculum committees studying such topics as textbook selection, vocabulary development, concept development, supplementary materials and the development of study skills.

12. Act as the “Move On When Reading” coordinator and be responsible for the development of the K-5 Reading Plan.

13. Be responsible for implementing and monitoring the plan of remedial reading instruction. The plan shall address identification, diagnosis and development.

14. Teach remedial reading as needed.

 Qualifications or Skills Required:

 Must possess and maintain proper certification as established by the AZ Department of Education.

Hold a current fingerprint clearance card.

Position: Career Advisor

Work Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Interview prospective clients to assess and identify problems and determine eligibility for Workforce Investment Services.
  2. Keep accurate written case records and files that are necessary to meet contractual requirements.
  3. Develop and implements casework service plans for complex cases.
  4. Performs field work relating to the client case plan, such as meeting with other social service providers and businesses in the community to provide individual client advocacy.
  5. Act as a liaison between clients and community agencies.
  6. Counsel and assists clients in understanding causes and contributing factors to their problems and persuades them to identify and utilize personal and external resources to resolve or alleviate those problems.
  7. Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
  8. Arranges services with providers as required by case plans.
  9. Provides referral to support services.
  10. Assesses training needs of clients and families.
  11. Comprehend and make inferences from material written in the English language.
  12. Produce documents written with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar.

Position: Bus Operator

Work Hours: Full-time (30 hours per week)

Location: Academia de Pueblo

Responsibilities: This position operates and maintains buses for the purpose of transporting students and other persons in a safe manner from home to school and back, and to and from educational activities.

Qualifications or Skills Required:

 

  • Must possess a valid Arizona commercial driver’s license with passenger and air brake endorsements.
  • Must possess skill in the operation of school bus and bus equipment.
  • Must understand and comply with all traffic laws.
  • Must have exemplary driving record and proof must be obtained from the Motor Vehicle Records annually.
  • Must maintain an exceptionally clean, accident-free driving history.
  • Must possess First Aid certification and CPR training.
  • Must pass a physical examination annually and possess a Department of Transportation health card.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screen urinalysis annually or as requested.
  • Must possess an Arizona School Bus Driver Certificate by meeting state requirements and standards.
  • Must possess Fingerprinting Card
  • Must be able to push, pull or lift weights up to 50 pounds.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
